Sustainable Habits for A Healthy & Eco-Friendly New Year

New Year’s resolutions can often be stressful with the pressure to ‘become a better you’; many of us break their resolution before the end of January!  If this sounds familiar but you want to make some changes to be kinder to yourself and the environment, here’s a selection of gentler, alternative options to looking after yourself in 2020.

Hydrate is key

One of the most underrated but beneficial steps is simply to drink more water. Helping you to think and focus better, better hydration is a huge asset when getting back to the 9-5 routine. With plenty of health benefits, drinking between six and eight glasses of fluid a day helps flush out toxins, supporting the function of the liver and kidneys. You’ll also notice incredible benefits to your skin, helping it to look healthy and hydrated. Instead of picking up a plastic bottle from the nearest shop, try carrying an aluminium bottle. They’re lightweight, reusable and you’ll find yourself saving some much-needed pennies after splashing out at Christmas time!

Support Local

You often hear the term ‘shop local’, and for good reason. Purchasing goods from nearby suppliers helps to invest in your area and maintain the sustainability of your local economy. Taking a trip down to your nearest fresh fruit and vegetable market will reduce your carbon footprint and encourage that ‘five-a-day’ target. Be sure to take a cotton tote bag with you too, for added style and eco-friendliness!

Green your Routine

Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and with labels riddled with scary-sounding chemicals, sometimes it can be a job to know how best to take care of it. Often the larger commercial skin care ranges contain additives that strip away natural oils, drying the skin.  By making the switch to certified organic skincare, you’re supporting green brands dedicated to making safe, effective products with your skin in mind. You won’t find any parabens, phthalates, SLS, artificial fragrances, formaldehyde, nanoparticles or propane/petroleum bases in any of our Herbfarmacy products.

Herbal Helpers in the Cold & Flu Season

Christmas might be over, but the bugs are still lingering. Boost your immune system and help relieve cough and cold symptoms with our NEW Echinacea & Elderberry Winter Tonic and Easy Breathe Balm.

Our 100% organic Easy Breathe Balm can be applied to the chest to help clear congestion. Thanks to its powerful blend of anti-inflammatory peppermint, antibacterial lemon tea tree and Eucalyptus acting as a
