Good, Wholesome Organic Ingredients

Everything we create is certified organic by the Soil Association. Organic means working with the delicate balance and rhythms of nature, from the soil, to plants and wildlife. We oversee every stage of the plant’s journey, sowing and harvesting each flower by hand and blending the herbal oils to create our signature organic skin care products.

We are inspected by the Soil Association annually to ensure our high standards are maintained. Made with your skin in mind, you won’t find any parabens, phthalates, SLS, artificial fragrances, formaldehyde, nanoparticles or propane/petroleum bases in any of our product.

Taking a Stand Against Animal Testing

We are very passionate about shaping a cruelty-free world, liberated from any kind of animal testing. As well as receiving a prestigious endorsement from the Naturewatch Foundation, a charity working tirelessly for the advancement of animal rights, Herbfarmacy is also a certified cruelty-free company with PETA’s ‘Beauty Without Bunnies’ program. We also have 18 products certified vegan with the Vegan Society.

For us, beauty should never come at the cost of cruelty, which is why we are committed to only testing on willing customers, family and friends.

Fair Rights, Fair Pay

We would not be where we are today without the dedication and hard work from our team. From the growers to the makers, we celebrate their contributions in making Herbfarmacy not only a brand, but a lifestyle. As well as one of our top priorities to be kind to the environment, it is imperative that we show the same kindness to our extended family of employees. As a result, Herbfarmacy stands proud as a certified Living Wage Employer under the Living Wage Foundation.

Earth Friendly

Herbfarmacy is committed to using only green energy on the farm, harnessed from renewable sources such as sunshine and wind.

We are proud to be a certified Ethical Company after a full ethics audit by The Ethical Company Organisation. To achieve this seal of approval, all Herbfarmacy policies surrounding the environment, human rights and animal rights were rigorously checked and verified.

Supporting Local Charities

Most years we host a series of open days at the farm and select one charity that will receive the donations and admission fees contributed on those days. In 2018, we were proud to support Echo, a local charity based in North Herefordshire that offer opportunities to people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to learn new skills and make friends whilst being surrounded by nature. In 2019, we donated to Hope Spring, a Herefordshire-based charity working to end water poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. By working with the community, Hope Spring creates sustainable solutions to sourcing safe, clean water. Run by volunteers, 100% of donations go directly to their vital projects. In 2020, we donated to Marine Conservation Society and Hereford Food Bank and in 2021 we will donate to more charities.

We are also contributors to the Size of Herefordshire programme which supports two indigenous tribes in the Peruvian rainforest. Their mission is to raise enough money to protect tropical rainforest the size of Herefordshire from illegal loggers, palm oil businesses and oil/gas explorers. Herbfarmacy has secured sponsorship of the areas around our organic farm which will be used to protect 75 acres of rainforest.

At the start of May 2021, we became Corporate members of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. A local branch of this well-known charity that is passionate about protecting wildlife and wild places around Hereford. We have always believed in caring and supporting wildlife in the whole process of growing and making our products, so we are extremely pleased to have become corporate member for this amazing charity!

Plastic Free - Look For The Whale

In June 2019 we switched to aluminium pots and bottles; they can be recycled easily and almost infinitely, without losing effectiveness. And unlike many others, our aluminium containers are BPA free. Nor do we use liners in our cream and balm lids (so no plastic there either!).  We vacuum tested our pots to ensure they didn’t leak. Our sleeves are made of FSC card and neither they, nor the paper labels we use, are plastic coated.  We’re even using rubber not plastic-based glues and vegetable, not acrylic ink. We promote our packaging being 100% recyclable and plastic-free by using a whale logo. So, if you want to be sure that your product is truly plastic free, look for the whale!
