Cold Weather Saviours

There is definitely a chill in the air! We love this time of year, with beautiful Autumnal walks, frosty morning, sitting by the fire with a warming cup of tea, bonfires and firework displays, toffee apples, blackberry crumble and yummy pumpkin soup. However, cooler temperatures, central heating and thicker clothes makes for uncomfortable and unhappy skin. In this article we will talk about what Herbfarmacy products can be used to help keep skin happy at this time of year.

Hydration is key

When we’re cold to the bone it is always tempting to have a long hot soak, but this can make skin dry and irritated as hot water can result in the body’s natural oils being stripped away by the heat. Restore moisture in the skin by using Herbfarmacy’s Patchouli Body Lotion after bathing or showering: it contains Avocado Oil, high in Vitamin E, that makes a great moisturiser, helping to keep skin soft and supple. With the added benefit of Shea Butter, this lotion is easily applied, non-greasy and quickly absorbed.

Dry Body Brushing

Brushing can stimulate blood flow and keep fresher skin cells at the surface. This is particularly important in Winter when dry and cold air results in irritated scaly patches on the skin. Our Exfoliating Body Brush also boosts the body’s circulation and plumps skin, helping the body to detoxify itself naturally and reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Oils

When the temperature drops our skin produces 10% less natural oils, so it’s important to get a moisturising boost from elsewhere.  Adding in a few drops of our Rose & Mallow Facial Oil into your Herbfarmacy face cream will help to moisturise, repair and regenerate the skin.  Our Facial Oil contains Jojoba oil which provides long lasting protection and leaves the skin feeling smooth and hydrated.  It also features Rosehip Oil to help rejuvenate tired and dry skin, typically found on skin exposed to cold weather.
